Most of the posts in this journal will be private, but I will be posting my poetry, creative writing, and various jokes and such for others to view as I go along.

First, a little about me. As of this moment, I am about 6 months pregnant, living in Winnipeg, and working in business to business sales and recruitment consulting. My job claims about 50 hours a week, and my family claims most of the rest, but I do make an effort to keep up with a few hobbies. :D

My hobbies are varied, but one of them can actually be considered an addiction - neopets. It all started when my sister started bugging me to get an account set up for my son. I thought she was crazy, I mean, this is a kids site and she is talking like it is the most amazing thing in the world! After a year or so of harassment, I set up an account for him, and it was game over. He wanted neopoints to buy stuff, so I helped him out. I played the games, earned him points, and eventually discovered that Neopia is an entire world with an independent economy based on the supply and demand of the users. It is also much more fun for adults than kids cause we can figure out all the goodies in the site, including plots, hehe.

I also love to listen to music - LOUD. I like everything from Etta James and Dean Martin to George Jones to all kinds of classic rock, indy, and even Nickelback, Live, Gwen Stefani. About the only thing I have a great deal of trouble getting into (but I try) is dance/techno/rap and remixes/covers.

I read, and my appetite for books is pretty much insatiable, though I haven't got as much time to read as I would like. I love books with an element of fear, fantasy, science fiction, or the supernatural. I also love a good historical, but I am not big on romances. They just remind me of how different reality is from what we wish it to be, and not in a good way. Instead of introducing possibilities that make me smile and think "Wouldn't that be nice?" romances tend to make me grimace and say "That is utter crap, and unfair for us to set ourselves up for heartbreak wishing for it."

I love to write, though I am somewhat mediocre at it. I love to do poetry, short stories and flash fiction, senryu, and want very much to try my hand at songwriting and at a novel.

My beautiful 11 year old son and the baby I am carrying are my number one priority right now. Three months until maternity leave and then I can be home with both of them!! I grew up in Saskatchewan and very much long to move home once the baby is born. I miss the pace of life there. Everything is so hectic in the city, and takes longer, and people are far less patient. I don't get what the big rush is, but to each their own, I guess.

Anyway, enough babbling for now. You'll hear from me again in the future, and have a chance to learn just what a scatterbrain I really am. I think it goes with being the creative type. :)
